1. How long does shipping take?
Processing: 1-3 business days. Shipping: helmets via freight: 7-20 business days; windscreen covers and raincoats: 5-10 business days (contiguous US). You'll receive tracking via email.

2. What are shipping costs?
Calculated at checkout based on weight/destination. Helmets may have separate freight charges. Free standard shipping on qualifying orders.

3. Do you ship outside the contiguous US?
Currently, only to the contiguous 48 states.

Electric Vehicle Helmets

4. What safety certifications do your helmets have?
All our electric vehicle helmets comply with 16 CFR Part 1203, the CPSC mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. This regulation establishes performance requirements to protect riders from head injuries caused by falls or collisions [8†L12-L16]. Any helmet that fails to meet these requirements violates the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA).

5. Why does a helmet need CPSC 16 CFR Part 1203 certification?
This is a mandatory federal law for all bicycle and multi-sport helmets sold in the U.S. [2†L31-L34]. The standard covers impact attenuation (drop testing), positional stability (roll-off resistance), retention system (strap) strength, and peripheral vision testing [8†L18-L20]. Failure to comply can result in recalls, civil penalties, and product confiscation.

6. What is ASTM F1447?
We also comply with ASTM F1447 (Standard Specification for Helmets Used in Recreational Bicycling or Roller Skating) as an additional quality benchmark. This is a voluntary performance standard that works in conjunction with CPSC 1203 [9†L8-L12]. Combined CPSC + ASTM F1447 certification is required by major retailers.

7. Are your helmets certified for children?
For helmets intended for children 12 and under, we provide a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) based on third-party testing at a CPSC-accepted laboratory, certifying CPSIA lead (<100 ppm) and phthalates (<0.1%) compliance with tracking labels per 16 CFR Part 1130.

8. Can a helmet be returned after being worn?
No. For hygiene reasons, helmets cannot be returned once worn or if packaging has been opened. If you need a different size, carefully measure your head circumference before ordering.

9. How do I determine my correct helmet size?
Measure the circumference of your head approximately 1 inch above your eyebrows. Round to the nearest half-inch and refer to our sizing chart. A properly fitted helmet should sit level on your head, not tilted back, with straps forming a "V" under your ears.

10. How do I care for my helmet?

• Clean with mild soap and water; do not use solvents.

• Replace after any significant impact (even without visible damage).

• Store in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Replace every 3-5 years even if unused (materials degrade).

Windscreen Covers

11. What safety standards do your windscreen covers meet?
Our windscreen covers comply with ANSI Z26.1-1977 (Safety Code for Safety Glazing Materials for Glazing Motor Vehicles Operating on Land Highways), which is incorporated by reference into FMVSS 205 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for Glazing Materials) [3†L11-L15]. This standard classifies glazing materials and provides different test requirements for each class, including impact resistance, light transmission, and durability testing [12†L30-L34]. Products that meet the requirements are considered compliant with FMVSS 205 and applicable state vehicle codes.

12. Why does a windscreen cover need ANSI Z26.1 compliance?
Windscreen covers that replace or protect the original windscreen are considered motor vehicle equipment. State vehicle codes (e.g., California Vehicle Code, New York CRR, Connecticut Agencies Regs) require windscreens to be constructed of safety glazing material that meets or exceeds ANSI Z26.1 standards. This is to ensure the rider's view of the highway remains unobstructed and that the material shatters safely in an impact.

13. What is FMVSS 205?
FMVSS 205 is the federal safety standard that essentially adopts most of the technical content of ANSI Z26.1. It defines permissible glazing materials for all types of motor vehicles and requires that each piece of glazing be permanently marked with the manufacturer's number assigned by NHTSA [11†L4-L9][11†L19-L22].

14. Does the windscreen cover obstruct my view?
No. All our windscreen covers are designed to provide the operator with an unobstructed view of the highway, as required by state vehicle codes.

15. Does the windscreen cover require professional installation?
Professional installation is strongly recommended. Improper installation can compromise safety and may void compliance certifications.

16. Does the cover require labeling?
Yes. Each windscreen cover is permanently labeled with the manufacturer's name and identification number at an easily visible location, as required by ANSI Z26.1.

17. How do I care for my windscreen cover?

• Clean with mild soap and water; avoid ammonia-based products.

• Inspect regularly for cracks, scratches, or deterioration.

• Replace if damaged or if visibility becomes obstructed.

Raincoats

18. What safety standards do your raincoats meet?
Our raincoats comply with two CPSC flammability standards:

19. What is 16 CFR Part 1610?
This is the Standard for the Flammability of Clothing Textiles under the Flammable Fabrics Act (FFA). It classifies textiles into three classes:

• Class 1 (Normal Flammability): Acceptable for use in clothing. Burn time ≥3.5 seconds for plain surface fabrics [13†L5-L7].

• Class 2 (Intermediate Flammability): Acceptable only for raised surface fabrics with burn time 4-7 seconds.

• Class 3 (Rapid and Intense Burning): BANNED for use in clothing. Burn time <3.5 seconds [13†L10-L12].

All our raincoats achieve Class 1 (Normal Flammability) .

20. What is 16 CFR Part 1611?
This is the Standard for the Flammability of Vinyl Plastic Film for use in wearing apparel, covering nonrigid, unsupported vinyl plastic film — including transparent, translucent, and opaque material used in raincoats [15†L23-L31][5†L7-L10].

21. Why do raincoats require flammability certification?
The Flammable Fabrics Act (FFA) was enacted by Congress in 1953 to protect individuals from burns, fires, illness, and death as a result of highly flammable clothing [15†L3-L8]. CPSC enforces these standards, and non-compliant products may be subject to recall and legal action. Adult wearing apparel made from vinyl plastic film is required to have a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) based on testing or a reasonable testing program [17†L38-L48].

22. Does my raincoat have a care label?
Yes. All raincoats have permanent care labels per 16 CFR Part 423 (FTC Care Labeling Rule) with washing, drying, and ironing instructions.

23. What are the CPSIA requirements for children's raincoats?
For raincoats intended for children 12 and under, we comply with:

• CPSIA lead (<100 ppm) and phthalates (<0.1%)

• 16 CFR Part 1130 tracking labels (manufacturer name, production date, batch number, country of origin) on product and packaging

• Children's Product Certificate (CPC) based on third-party CPSC-accepted laboratory testing

24. Which fabrics are exempt from 16 CFR Part 1610 testing?
The following fabrics are exempt and considered Class 1:

• Plain surface fabrics weighing 2.6 ounces per square yard or more, regardless of fiber content

• Fabrics made entirely from acrylic, modacrylic, nylon, olefin, polyester, or wool, regardless of weight [14†L44-L48]

25. How do I care for my raincoat?

• Fabric raincoats: Machine wash cold, gentle cycle; tumble dry low; do not bleach.

• Vinyl raincoats: Wipe clean with damp cloth; do not machine wash or dry; keep away from high heat.

26. What is California Proposition 65?
Some products may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm (e.g., certain dyes, phthalates in vinyl, flame retardants). When applicable, a Proposition 65 warning will be displayed on product pages and packaging.
